Sue J.: "Being a nurse at the Call Center allows me to use my 30 plus years of nursing knowledge to help people, many who have no other resource. At the end of the day I want to learn something new and help others learn too."
Linda N.: "I have been a nurse at St. Luke's Sioux City and Iowa Health System for 45 years. The past 10 years have been at My Nurse. Following retirement I decided to continue as needed at My Nurse. I enjoy the connection with callers and fellow staff members."
Kathy S.: "I have been a nurse for 29 years. Nursing offers me the opportunity to use my skills and learn at the same time."

Twila S.: "I got into nursing because of the Flight 232 Plane Crash on a whim, and have never regretted it since. It was on of those "ah ha" moments that have changed my life forever, for the best. It is always challenging and never dull. In fact, that is the only part of nursing that stays the same."
Allison C.: "Since working at My Nurse I have learned a great deal. Every day I learn something new."
Elaine S.: "This year I will be reaching my 20 year anniversary with Iowa Health System. Prior to my coming to My Nurse as a secretary 6 years ago, I have had various positions in the hospital as staffing assistant, billing assistant, and unit secretary. This has allowed me to gain a good knowledge to assist you with the inner workings of the many Iowa Health System hospitals and affiliates."
Nancy S.: "I returned to school at the age of 52 for a career change and received an Associated Degree as a Medical Administrative Assistant. I've been working at My Nurse nearly 4 years now. It's an interesting job, definitely not boring. One of my favorite quotes is from Winston Churchill: Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference."
Lori D.: "I enjoy working with a wonderful group of nursing professionals to provide quality customer service. Knowing that we can make a difference in people's lives is great motivation to come to work each day."
Brook S.: "The My Nurse Call Center has allowed me to utilize past administrative experiences and my skills to conquer new challenges in our fast-paced, ever changing environment. I look forward to the continued evolution of My Nurse and the exciting new technological advances that are the future of this industry."
Holly K.: "I am married and a mother of two school aged children, living in Akron Iowa. I work full time as the Akron-Westfield Community School Nurse, part time at the Akron Mercy Medical Clinic, and every other weekend for My Nurse. I celebrated my 11th year with Iowa Health System as a registered nurse in February, 2009. The best quality I bring to this job is seeing myself in the caller's shoes. I have been the "panicked mother" of an ill child several times and needed the reassurance and advice from other professionals despite my own nursing knowledge. My experience includes: Geriatrics, Surgery/Oncology, school nursing, clinic nursing and telephone nursing with My Nurse. Nursing is a wonderful profession to be in. It offers a variety of experiences, constant learning, and much job satisfaction when helping others in need."
Mindy S.: "I started working for My Nurse in 2003 as a secretary. I liked the variety of the calls and enjoyed the people I worked with. I recently decided to go back to school at a local community college and get my nursing degree, and the staff has been so supportive. I started classes in 2007 and will finish with my RN degree in May 2009. I've always felt that I could work anywhere as long as I liked the people I worked beside. At My Nurse I have been blessed to work beside people who are caring, helpful, and professional. They have been good examples to me. In between working and going to class I enjoy sports, (the Cornhuskers), playing the piano, reading, and spending time with friends and family."
Julie P.: "I was hired 1 year ago. I have been in the Medical Customer Service field for over 15 years. I am so privileged now to work with so many professionals. I feel that I made a good career move at this time in my life."
Sirena P.: "I have been an RN for 11 years. I was a labor and delivery nurse for St. Luke's Sioux City prior to joining My Nurse. I have 4 children, 3 of which are leaving for boot camp soon. I enjoy baking, and I hope to learn to decorate cakes someday. I enjoy out door activities like boating and swimming. I would love to learn to scuba dive in the future."
Ann S.: "I have been married for 20 years this July and am a busy mom of 2 children. I have been a nurse for 20 years with 14 of them being in the My Nurse Call Center. I have seen the My Nurse Call Center evolve from a local call center to a statewide call center for Iowa Health System. It is a unique, exciting and challenging specialty of nursing. I have had the opportunity to work with a great group of people with a wide variety of backgrounds in nursing. During my years at the My Nurse Call Center, I have worn several different hats but currently am the Quality Improvement Coordinator. I am honored to work for such a great Iowa Health System service."

On my days off, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and watching my kids sporting events."
Glenda N.: "Hi, my name is Glenda Nieuwkoop and I have been a nurse for 35 years. I find the Call Center as exciting as the emergency room....I never know what my next call might be. Davett R.: "I have been a nurse for 20 years. It has been the most rewarding career choice I could have ever made. I have worked in different areas in those years and have learned so much, not only from the departments, but from the patients themselves. Now, at My Nurse, it is such a wonderful feeling to hear the gratification in the patient's voice and to have them thank me for speaking with them."
Mary K.: "Being a nurse for 23 years has been very rewarding. Being able to help someone who calls in to the My Nurse Call Center is the best part of my day."
Patricia A.: "I went to school at the age of 42 to become a nurse, as I wanted to help others in my own small way. At the time I owned and operated a beauty salon as well as a tanning salon. At one point felt that maybe I had bit off more than I could chew!! I prevailed, and here I am trying very hard to help as much as I can. I have background experience in long term care, occupational health, maternity clinics, allergy clinics, and family health care. I come from a very large family of 9 siblings and a plethora of nieces and nephews. I enjoy being available for every individual who contacts our facility. I try to go above and beyond to help in any way that I can in all aspects of my job."
Glenda P.: "I have been a nurse for 17 years, I have had the privilege of helping a lot of people and they in turn have helped me grow as a nurse and as a person."

During my career, I have never worked with a more compassionate and dedicated group of professionals. It is an honor to be a part of this organization."
Debra S.: "My nursing career started 31 years ago. My favorite part of being a nurse is being able to talk to such a wide variety of people. Our world is made up of such a diverse group of people and each will share a bit of themselves, if you just ask."
Michelle G.: "I am very proud to be the Director of My Nurse. I have been in the tele-health field for nearly 15 years.
