About My Nurse

My Nurse is a free health information service for the public, sponsored by Iowa Health System and staffed by registered nurses 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.

The nurses at My Nurse answer your health questions, help you find a doctor, and register you for classes and health programs.

Contact My Nurse if...

  • You're wondering if you should call your physician about a health issue.
  • You are a parent with a sick child.
  • You're wondering if you should seek emergency care for an illness or injury.
  • You're looking for a physician.
  • You just moved into your community and need health care direction.
  • You are the caregiver for children or others.
  • You have health concerns.
  • You are a discharged patient with questions as you recover at home.

Calling My Nurse

My Nurse is not for emergent care. If you have an emergency, please call 911.

When calling, be prepared to give your name and address, as well as the person you're calling about.

Health information given is not a replacement for your provider's care.

You'll be asked to choose from the following options:

   1. Speak to a nurse about symptoms
   2. Health Questions
   3. Register for an upcoming class or screening
   4. Get assistance finding a doctor, clinic or hospital in your area
   5. For all other needs or to speak to a Customer Service Specialist
   6. Hear pre-recorded health information.
